"Sa Ngalan ng Ina" Trailer

UPDATE3
"Sa Ngalan Ng Ina" is a rare Masterclass in the Art of Acting and Filmmaking on Philippine television, SSV contends from the start of airing. We encouraged actors, from the aspirants to the most veteran, to view the series as a virtual seminar/training/workshop that could only benefit the most open and gifted talents.

But for the selected stars who were cast in the series, the actual experience of working with two of the Philippines' most world-renowned film artists, director Mario O'Hara and thespian Nora Aunor, in one drama series is indeed nothing less than a prized opportunity that may be long in coming next time.

So as the "television event-cum-masterclass" comes to an end, SSV recognizes the stars who truly evolved as finer actors right the most discriminating viewers' eyes- and that is You- public viewers and public critics of "Sa Ngalan Ng Ina."

One important note. SSV has concluded that it is only proper to exclude from the list of nominees THE Master Thespian herself, Ms Nora Aunor. Afterall, it is on her level of excellence that this 'Masterclass' measures the rest.

UPDATE2 Unenlightened detractors of TV 5's ground-breaking drama "Sa Ngalan Ng Ina" could use the wider perspective of Hollywood insiders on how to better judge the success- both present and future- of a show other than what survey companies release as "tv ratings."  As the following editorial from "The Hollywood Reporter" would show, successful business people in media know better than to see things ONLY in the now and the ever-fluctuating moment.

Read on if you want to get a sense of why "Hollywood is King" or pass it up and be limited by the so-called 'network war' that is oh-so local...

Analysis: Forget Ratings Worries

Judge X Factor On Its Content,

Promise

Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid lend gravitas where other singing shows are weakest

"The absolute most important goal of X Factor is to hit Idol where it’s most vulnerable – churning out a winner with real talent and longevity. If Cowell and Reid are able to find someone in this process who can transcend the limited appeal of being popular in a primetime singing competition (think of all the Idol acts who vanished from everyone’s radar almost immediately, up to and including – most damningly – many of the winners) then the show will be validated. It will have uncovered someone with lasting artistic appeal. If X Factor can do that in this inaugural season, then no one will be talking about ratings much longer, because eventually the audience will switch over from gimmickry to the real deal. And of all the shows out there, Cowell and Reid give this one the best chance at legitimacy."

UPDATE1 SSV sincerely believes that "Sa Ngalan ng Ina," with its rare combination of the best of the best film artists, particularly directors Mario O'Hara and Jon Red in collaboration with actors Nora Aunor, Christopher de Leon, Eugene Domingo and yes, Rosanna Roces could only result to nothing but a world class Masterclass in the art of finest filmmaking possible.

That TV5 is making it available of free TV is even more reason to celebrate especially for stars and artists who are determined to further hone their craft.

Thus, SSV took the initiative of inviting these stars to "attend" this masterclass using the ever-reliable direct communications applications available on social media.

The following are the names of the stars who got this what we call the "Sa Ngalan Ng Ina-Masterclass on Filmmaking Excellence." Who among these popular stars will accept the invite to view and hopefully learn from the artistry on SNNI? Only they can tell but at least the we offered the information. Peace :)

"Star Value: Superstar" is the highest star value level any star or material or project could reach in SSV's patented "Star Value Ranking System" developed using internationally accepted and applied arts management principles while strongly taking into consideration local industry realities.

Among local television shows, "Sa Ngalan ng Ina" produced by TV5 and created under the direction of Mario O'Hara and the lead performance of Ms. Nora Aunor is the first to get this ranking.

By getting this rank prior to its telecast, SSV is, in effect, making a forecast that SNNI will consistently meet all the criteria of an ultimate valuable star / tv program including HIGH TV RATINGS (from a minimum of being #1 in its timeslot to a maximum feat of THE #1 tv program in the country) and ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE for the entire duration of its scheduled airing.

As predictions go, however, our ranking of SNNI will be validated once the program airs starting Oct. 3, 2011 on TV5, reportedly aftwr Wil Time, Big Time.

SSV, as a star value specialist and a pop media strategy provider, will continue to monitor the developments being, during and after SNNI's run before turning the forecast value into its final star value.

"True enough, everyone agrees that the series is bound to reassert Aunor's stature in the industry given the kind of acting prowess she shows in the drama. It is also clear that TV5 did not scrimp on budget and on getting the services of top co-actors and crew members to make "Sa Ngalan ng Ina" such a high-quality series." - Jojo Panaligan mb.com.ph

"From hiring the best directors and actors, to rolling out the red carpet for the advance screening of the first episode of last Thursday night, TV5 is sparing no expense to make its first miniseries unforgettable." - Jeffrey Valisno bworldonline

"'Sa Ngalan ng Ina's' special screening of pilot episode revealed that Nora's acting prowess is intact despite the long-term absence. The minimalist heartfelt acting with the effective use of the eyes to tell the scene's soul makes Nora's comeback a high moment in Philippine television history." - Buzzstation tribuneonline

"In a scene where all the other characters were breaking down, mourning for the loss of a loved one, Nora Aunor showed what comprises real acting. Instead of shedding buckets of tears, the actress showed restraint, her character's grief show in the sorrow found in her expressive eyes..." - Kathleen Llemit tribuneonline

"In terms of scope and magnitude, it's obvious TV5 gave ate Guy what she is due, considering her stature in the industry...The series is very promising, thanks to the expert direction of Mario O'Hara." - Mario Bautista journal

"Wala ni isa mang media na sumaksi sa pagpapalabas ng pilot episode ng kanyang (Nora Aunor) mini-series na 'Sa Ngalan ng Ina' ...ang makapagsasabi na kinupasan ng panahon ang kanyang pagiging henyo sa pag-arte. Ito ay malinaw na makikita sa bawat eksenang kanyang nilabasan..." - Veronica Samio pilipino star ngayon

Parang isang malaking pelikula. Panalo si Nora Aunor na after eight years ay wala pa ring kupas ang pagarte. Sabi nga ni Christopher de Leon noong Q&A after ng screening, “Magaling pa rin. After eight years, siya pa rin ang the one… Number One.” - Rowena Agilida tempo

It's a nice feeling to see her again, actually. I am so happy that she is doing very, very well, especially sa project na ito. It's a good project for Mama Guy and for all of us. It's nice to be working with her again...You just have to be alert. Kahit na bumali-baligtad ka, tumambling-tambling ka sa harap ni Mama Guy sa eksena, walang mangyayari sa 'yo. Kahit na kumain ka ng apoy, matingnan ka lang ni Mama Guy walang mangyayari. The only thing you have to do is make the scene work..." - Christopher de Leon journal
