While generally regarded by traditional film industry movers, the entertainment press and even the Selection Committee of the Metro Manila Film Festival itself as a film project that "lacks commercial viability", with almost all so-called "fearless forecasts" predicting this NORA AUNOR-starrer to end up at the cellar of the box-office ranking among the eight festival entries, our most recent Star Value Analysis, on the hand, sees a different, or should we say, radically opposite, trend shattering scenario as far as "Thy Womb's" box-office potential is concerned.
After reviewing the film and upon gathering and analyzing all pop media elements relevant to it, our patented Star Value Rating System has found "THY WOMB" to have a Star Value (Film) of a SEASONED STAR.
As a film with a Star Value of a Seasoned Star, "Thy Womb" is poised to surprise many with a so-much-better-than-expected box-office gross at the end of the festival. Just how surprising will this box-office performance be? Allow us to be more daring by being more specific in our prediction-cum-analysis.
1. "Thy Womb" will NOT be the festival box-office cellar-dweller. On the contrary...
2. "Thy Womb" will occupy the #4 slot in the MMFF box-office ranking, just behind "Sisterakas", "Enteng" and "One More Try."
3. If it does stay at the #4 slot, "Thy Womb" would most likely have grossed in the vicinity of Php 75-85M.
Yet the good news for "Thy Womb" does not end there. Should the momentum for "Thy Womb" continue, and particularly if it ends up sweeping the major awards, we see its Star Value improving a notch higher - from a Seasoned Star (film) to a TOP STAR (film).
