SSV Box-Office Analysis: Dennis Trillo vs Jake Cuenca Element Heats Up the Box-Office Potential of 'My Neighbor's Wife'

'My Neighbor's Wife' (Could be Mother Lily's Strongest Movie Pre-MMFF)

SSV has been early to note the likely better-than-expected box-office success of "My Neighbor's Wife" and more specifically, we were betting on the untapped pull of its two male lead stars; Dennis Trillo and Jake Cuenca. 

And since MNW is in our radar of potentially successful films, we began monitoring its public communications design and have since found its publicists to be highlighting the sexy scenes of its of the two pairs, especially that of the ladies, Lovi Poe and Carla Abellan. The slant is expected.

But what is unexpected and completely unwelcome in our opinion is the just recently published quote from Dennis Trillo by PEP. We wont belabor to expound why such quote is detrimental for the box-office of the movie as it all too-obvious. 

We just hope this gets addressed ASAP.

Still, Dennis Trillo, the actor, is one of the finest in our opinion whose commercial and artistic prowess has yet to be maximized to the full thus far.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that his personal dilemma does not hinder whatever potential he still has as a star of potential value.

   

SSV calculations point to a Better-Than-Expected box-office performance for this upcoming Regal movie, 'My Neighbor's Wife.'

Strongest attractions should come from, what SSV believes as, the (surprisingly) long-untapped movie supporters of DENNIS TRILLO and the just recently engaged film-goers who came in throngs to see JAKE CUENCA in an adult role (in Star Cinema's 2nd highest-grossing local release to date, 'In the Name of Love', along with Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin).

The Jake Cuenca-Dennis Trillo combo is an underestimated casting-coup which, by the end of this movie's showing, should make producers re-think their film business plans.

Of course, Lovie Poe also comes strong, what with the unanimous critical acclaim of her performance in the remake of  'Temptation Island' while Carla Abellana's turn in last season's 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' also surprised a number of objective film critics who saw her as that festival's true 'best actress.'

But again, on the onset and barring any unexpected elements within the film itself or any unsavory events c/o of the stars, SSV believes 'My Neighbor's Wife' will succeed in the box-office largely because of the truly exciting and near-impossible to repeat Trillo-Cuenca face-off.

And just how strong does SSV see the Jake-Dennis casting would be @ the box-office? Strong enough to make 'My Neighbor's Wife' Regal's most successful movie before the next Metro Manila Film Festival happens this December, that's how strong.

And should our calculations and analysis be proven correct, then we could all welcome the return of the 'heavy drama' genre in our commercial movies, only this time our audiences would be requiring much more
than what producers want to believe.

For that, Mother Lily Monteverde could easily take a bow because her movie is set to prove once again the sustained relevance of her unique grasp of the Pinoy film market and its audience.
