"Catch Me I'm in Love" a film project jointly produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films is the first local film for 2011 that has earned 'SuperStar Value' status in our patented grading system! The 'experimental' pairing of Philippine sweetheart SARAH GERONIMO and teen hunk GERALD ANDERSON proves to be a non-experiment as far as their tandem's entertainment and box-office appeal are concerned. However what lifts this movie from the pack of innumerable rom-coms produced in the past several years is the all too subtle but none the less effective inclusion of usually non-rom com elements that ultimately broaden and deepen the film's importance. For that credit has to go to the screenwriter MEL MENDOZA DEL ROSARIO, the director MAE CZARINA CRUZ and the executives behind STAR CINEMA and VIVA FILMS for making a dreamy romantic movie that is also so grounded and so close to the Filipinos' sensitivity and situation in the current times.
If we must make more romantic movies, at least let it be more of this kind!
