Film Value Analysis - Captain America: The Winter's Soldier is More Valuable than Thor: The Dark World
As our patented #FilmValueAnalysis on "Captain America The Winter Soldier" unfolds, major Hollywood box-office experts are now asking --- "WHY?"
Post by Box Office Mojo.
The Motley Fool, on its most recent feature on Captain America The Winter Soldier practically echoed our early analysis on the much improved value of the film compared to its predecessor.
"Captain America is no longer a second-tier hero
Not long ago, the idea of a Captain America movie surpassing $800 million in global box office take would have been laughed at by industry prognosticators. Now, it's looking like Captain America: The Winter Soldier will do just that. The movie's incredible success could also threaten big projects from rival studios." - The Motley Fool
"Captain America - The Winter Soldier" is beating "Thor - The Dark World" on the per day gross, in complete synch with our #FilmValueAnalysis forecast using our patented Star Value Rating System.
Captain America Beating Thor on Per Day Gross ---- as Predicted by #FilmValueAnalysis
Thor 2 opened in November, and thanks to the boost of brand recognition from The Avengers, hit $85.7 million domestically on opening weekend. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, already having broke advanced ticket sales records for the month of April, is on track to potentially beat that number – an interesting switch since the original Thor outsold Captain America: The First Avenger two years ago (both opened summer 2011).

#FilmValueAnalysis - "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is More Valuable than "Thor: The Dark World"

"Captain America" is generally seen as the least flashy of most major Marvel superhero characters but this "weakness" could be its biggest asset, at least as far as the second film installment based on the Cap concerned.
Studio created buzz for the upcoming Chris Evans-starrer may comparatively be less than that spun for "Thor: The Dark World" basically due to the higher, "heavenly" expectations that studios have for the latter than for this all-American hero movie but in the end, the BETTER final product should deliver the better results.
To put it more bluntly, after seeing the film, we conclude that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the better movie than the more expensive "Thor: The Dark World", thus we are giving it more of our patented Film Value Analysis points.
In short, Captain America 2 should fly higher than Thor 2, particularly in the all-important box-office tally. "Thor: The Dark World" has a lifetime gross of $206,314,559 according boxofficemojo.com. Our analysis on "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as having a higher film value strongly suggests that in the end, "Captain America 2" will have a higher lifetime gross than "Thor 2." It may have a lower opening weekend but it would eventually prove to have "longer and stronger legs" at the tills.
